Look, I get it. These are troubled times we live in. Beyonce fans are cutting themselves, Kim Kardashian quit social media, and we've got a presidential candidate that's out here using the kind of insults your 120year-old brother would call childish.
So naturally, you've gotta latch onto whatever source of joy you can find, and in this case, it's candy: delicious, chocolatey candy.
For years, M&M lovers have had to make due with only two choices: plain or peanut (and ok, sometimes the weird, one-off flavors like pretzel but who cares about those?). But in celebration of the beloved candy's 75th anniversary, the company is rolling out a new filling option: caramel.
"Caramel is extremely trendy," Hank Izzo, Vice President of Research and Development of Mars Chocolate told CNN Money. "It's a $2.2 billion flavor segment and the fastest growing segment in food right now. We want to be part of this category."
The new flavor will hit stores in 2017 and will be a permanent addition to the M&Ms family; they're even opening a new plant in Topeka, Kansas to focus solely on churning out the caramel goodness.
The news has been well-received on social media, to say the least; the Facebook announcement has over 43,000 likes and reactions, and people can't stop talking about it on Twitter.
We're all ready!
