Kesha's interminable and increasingly sisyphean legal battles against Dr. Luke took a surprising and bizarre turn: Luke is now trying to have a private text conversation between Lady Gaga and Kesha used as evidence in his case against her. Oh, and Katy Perry is somehow getting dragged into this too?
A communication between Gaga And Kesha from April 2016 has been allowed as admissable evidence by a judge. According to Breathe Heavy, the judge is also granting Dr. Luke permission to show Katy Perry the text although "it's unknown why or how Perry is related; the contents of the text are sealed, but it does imply that Perry was mentioned in an exchange between the two pop stars."
Gaga has spoken in support of Kesha in the past. "I feel like she's being very publicly shamed for something that happens in the music industry all the time, to women and men ... I just want to stand by her side because I can't watch another woman that went through what I've been through suffer," she said.
Katy Perry has frequently collaborated with Dr. Luke in the past, but unlike many other celebrities, she has remained silent on Kesha's situation.
Dr. Luke has yet to be charged or convicted of any crime, despite what feels like innumerable allegations made against him.
