Disney's Frozen is the studio's biggest hit in years, but fans are hoping writers will switch things up for the sequel, which is currently in production.
The Independent reports that fans are calling for Disney to make Elsa the first LGBT princess in Disney history, and they're using the #GiveElsaAGirlfriend hashtag to do it. After Twitter user Alexis Isabel Moncada asked Disney to make Elsa a lesbian princess, her Sunday night tweet to the studio caught on, and, at present time, has been retweeted over 1,500 times.
"There are more than just one kind of person," Moncada said in an interview with NBC 12. "To see the same story over and over about a girl and her prince charming, it's repetitive, and it leaves so many people out and makes so many people feel alone."
Many, many fans agreed with Moncado.
Disney has yet to respond to the online campaign, but if one of the most beloved animated princesses of all time was revealed to be a lesbian, it would be a huge win in terms of positive LGBT representation. What do you think?
