Fetty Wap is speaking out on his recent brush with the law.
The rapper was arrested in the early hours of Friday morning after police caught him racing down an expressway at over 100 miles per hour. After failing a sobriety test, Fetty — whose real name is Willie Maxwell II — was ultimately hit with 15 charges, including reckless endangerment, DUI, speeding, and unlicensed operation of a car.
Maxwell was released without bail later that day, and told reporters after his arraignment at Brooklyn Criminal Court that it was never his intention to risk anyone else's safety, Page Six reports.
"I would never put people in danger," he said. "It was 2 o'clock in the morning. There wasn't no cars behind us."
"You live in New York — you'd know that," he added.
Fetty's due back in court on Dec. 12.
