Governor Mike Pence is feeling the wrath of Twitter. During the Vice Presidential debate, Democrat Tim Kaine criticized Donald Trump's negative comments about Mexicans, to which Pence defended, "Senator, you’ve whipped out that Mexican thing again." Well, Twitter is whipping it out again.

The New York Times reports that angry Latino Americans are giving the governor a crash course of what it means to be Latino in this country using the hashtag #ThatMexicanThing.

"#ThatMexicanThing is my abuelita who moved to San Antonio without speaking English & slept in a barn while picking lettuce every summer.," said one person on Twitter. "#thatmexicanthing is my mom who immigrated to this country, pays her taxes and put two kids through college while managing a business."

Others took the hashtag to highlight their pride in their heritage. "#ThatMexicanThing being proud of my heritage, becoming a citizen, & showing up to vote against hate this November #ImWithHer."

Trump has come under fire for his horrible comments about Mexicans and stereotypes about immigrants. "When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best...They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us," he's said. "They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
