Just in case you live under a rock: earlier this week, Kim Kardashian basically broke the internet by releasing footage of the "Famous" phone call exposing Taylor Swift as someone who maybe-probably (most definitely) lied.
To make things even messier, prior to sharing the video, Kim also posted a pretty shady tweet about "National Snake Day" that's been widely interpreted as a dig at Taylor. Swift's haters had already begun using the snake emoji in support of Calvin Harris. As a result, people who are #TeamKimye also began posting snake emojis all over Taylor's Instagram page.
Only now, the snake emojis have mysteriously disappeared from Taylor's comment sections. As New York Mag noted, you'd be hard-pressed to find a single snake emoji anywhere when just last week Taylor was flooded with them. Interestingly enough, what's not missing are the heart emojis Taylor's fans posted in support of her. That's not all though - if you try to post any block of emojis on a verified account, a notification pops up alerting you that your comment has too many special characters.
When Vanity Fair questioned Instagram about it, a spokesperson for the site said, "We're always looking for better ways to help people prevent spammy or inappropriate comments on Instagram."
Curious, right? Seriously, just how much power does Taylor Swift have?
