Keke Palmer Opened Up About Overcoming Childhood Sexual Abuse

Keke revealed she was abused by a female relative.

Keke Palmer is opening up about her childhood abuse. While on The Wendy Williams Show, the actress revealed that she was molested at the age of five by a female relative.

"Yeah it's a family member," Palmer explained. "She's still very much still part [of my life]."  When asked how she treats her former abuser—who is her cousin— the actress seemed very matter-of-fact. "Very normal. I think that's the weird thing about it. Often we can't name the things in our life because they happened so quickly and we often have no knowledge of what went on."

Wendy pressed Palmer on how her mother feels about the abuse. "Mom's very sad," she said. Her father remains more calm, supporting his daughter to come to her own terms with what happened and serving as a resource if she wants.
