Kesha has been dealing with endless legal battles against her allegedly abusive producer Dr. Luke, but her camp has finally scored one small victory in an otherwise nightmarish situation that has effectively crippled her career: a lawsuit which claimed that Kesha's mom had defamed her daughter's alleged antagonist has been dropped by a court.
According to TMZ: "A judge in NY State tossed the case on Wednesday ... Luke [had] sued Pebe Sebert, saying she fueled Kesha's anger over her contract ... He also claimed Pebe attempted to extort him if he didn't let Kesha out of the deal.
The judge dismissed the matter for a few reasons, including jurisdiction issues and because Luke's lawyers couldn't prove Pebe had 'control' over Kesha."
Unfortunately, this isn't the end of Kesha's mom's legal struggles. A similar lawsuit against her still exists in the state of Tennessee.
As far as Kesha's own suits go: after last month's tearful message to fans asking for support for an upcoming court date, the proceedings were delayed. From Perez Hilton: "[Kesha's] court date had been postponed until February 19, meaning she now has to wait just under another month to find out if she can get out of her recording contract with the producer she accused of drugging and sexually assaulting her."
