New Magical Headband Helps Insomniacs Go To Sleep

Count sheep no more.

Everyone knows you're supposed to get eight hours of sleep every night, but how many of us really do? For the millions affected by insomnia, one magic headband could be the cure to finally catch some Zs.

The Sleep Shepherd Blue headband is a sleep tracker that uses brain-training sounds to help get you to deep sleep. The adjustable headband contains thin speakers and conductive fabric electroencephalograph (EEG) sensors. It tracks brainwave activity and uses a "patent-pending biofeedback system."

It comes with a companion app to track sleep patterns and your head orientations (i.e. how often you toss and turn during the night).

The idea raised over $800,000 in funding on Kickstarter and Indiegogo. The band sells for $249.

The design itself looks like a sleep mask--it isn't the sexiest thing you'll wear in bed--but it sure beats undereye dark circles in the morning.
