It seems like Nicki is taking a page out of Rihanna's book, who's the queen of clapping back, and firing back at her haters online. Over the weekend, Nicki attended her brother's wedding, afterwards sharing photos from the event online. It didn't take long for the trolls to flock to Insta, taking aim not only at Nicki, but at her family as well.
Nicki wasn't having it, and decided to retaliate by posting photos of her haters online. She later deleted the posts (and the accompanying shade that was thrown), but not before The Shade Room grabbed a few screenshots.
While many are applauding Nicki for fighting back against the trolls, is it really that simple? By lashing out blindly at anyone who posted a negative word, Nicki took the risk of insulting her own fans. Just because a girl doesn't like a ponytail, doesn't mean she's not a major fan.
The response seems even more unwarranted when you consider that Nicki has a whopping 32.2 million followers on Instagram, many of whom joined her in insulting her so-called haters. While it's always good to remind those who post online that the Internet isn't a magical place devoid of consequences, publicly shaming people could lead to even more bullying. Two wrongs don't make a right, especially when one person has literally millions of people at her disposal.
But one thing's for sure: Nicki doesn't think she was in the wrong at all, and took to Twitter to defend herself.
So what do you think? Was Nicki within her rights, or was she being a mean girl?
