The entire world knows the name Kim Kardashian now, but back in 1994, she was the daughter of O.J. Simpson’s lawyer, Robert Kardashian Sr.
In last night’s premiere of American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson, fans were horrified to see the football star almost committed suicide in Kim’s childhood bedroom.
“O.J no, please, this is where my daughter sleeps. O.J., please, do not kill yourself in Kimmy’s bedroom,” says actor David Schwimmer, playing the late Robert Kardashian. In the scene, O.J., played by Cuba Gooding Jr., is about to turn himself in to the police for allegedly murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her boyfriend Ron Goldman. He gets scared and puts a gun to his head in a girl’s bedroom, covered with posters of ‘90s teen heartthrobs like Jonathan Taylor Thomas.
Vanity Fair confirms that the ordeal happened. ”I could never walk in this room, my daughter couldn’t sleep in this bed. She’d know what happened,” Robert said in the 1996 book American Tragedy: The Uncensored Story of the Simpson Defense.
Jeffrey Mossa, the production designer for American Crime Story, tells the magazine that they filmed in the actual Encino home where Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe Kardashian spent part of their childhood.
