There was a time when men routinely gave up their seats on subways or buses for women. That time is long gone. Now, it's routine for people to refuse to give up their seats for women—even if the women are pregnant. A few months ago, actress Olivia Wilde tweeted able-bodied riders who won’t give your seat to a GIANT preggo. I’ll just stand riiiiight next to your head and pray I go into labor.”
Unfortunately, Olivia isn’t alone. Countless pregnant women have taken to social media to report similar occurrences. One woman in London recently made news when she sat on the floor of a train after passengers refused to give up their seats. And while we would have thought the sentiment on those passengers would have been generally negative, a debate unfolded online with many people arguing the woman was “trying to score extra perks out of her pregnancy by milking the situation for all it's worth,” especially since the woman was “a mere five months along.”
Well, veteran Bad Girl Natalie Nunn ain’t having it. After a man who saw her holding her stomach refused to give up his seat on a train at the Atlanta airport, she said: "I honestly can't wait to push this baby out and just whoop somebody's ass."
We are in your corner, Natalie.
