Rapper Kodak Black was arrested on Thursday and now faces several felony charges, including grand theft of a firearm, possession of marijuana, and neglecting a child.
According to Page Six, Kodak Black, whose real name is Dieuson Octave, was arrested in Florida and is now being held at the Broward County Main Jail. The rapper was on probation at the time of his arrest, The Sun-Sentinel reports, and will be held without bond until his attorney can make another request in front of a trial judge.
While initially the cause of the arrest was unknown, TMZ reports that authorities arrested Octave at his home after law enforcement officials observed, during an Instagram Live broadcast, Octave's infant child in an environment where drugs and a handgun were present. At one point the child was allegedly brought into a bathroom where multiple men were rolling joints and another was holding a gun. Police later found 94.9 grams of marijuana in Octave's bedroom closet, as well as a safe containing a loaded Glock with nine rounds that had been reported stolen in December.
The rapper now faces a total of seven charges: grand theft of a firearm, two charges of possession of weapon or ammo by a felon, possession of marijuana over 20 grams, neglect of a child without great bodily harm, and two probation violations.
