What could possibly be better than ice cream in summer? Probably a tall, fancy glass of icy cold red wine. How do we combine these things? Red wine ice cream floats, of course.
At the new restaurant BKW by Brooklyn Winery, chefs revealed this beautiful creation they call the "ultimate boozy summer indulgence."
And how could anyone disagree? The Kalimotxo Float was inspired by a similar Spanish drink of red wine and cola, equally distributed. The popular Spanish beverage is served over ice with a wedge of lime or blackberry liqueur, according to Food and Wine.
Well, the good people over at BKW were wise enough to realize that this concotion was missing an important ingredient: ice cream. They combined their Old Vine Zinfandel with "grapes harvested from Lodi, CA, cola and Mascarpone gelato" from Il Laboratoria del Gelato. The gelato is served in a separate glass, andyou can add it as you please.
Basically, BKW have single-handedly created the greatest grown-up good time alcoholic drink for the sweltering hot season. Shall we indulge now?
