Remy Ma is ready to put the past behind her.
In a new interview with The Breakfast Club this week, the "ShETHER" rapper was asked about her long-running feud with Nicki Minaj, HNHH reports. Remy's latest track — a collab with Lil' Kim called "Wake Me Up" — contains quite a few lines that could be taken as jabs at her rival. Most notably? These: "You fake-ass b*tch, you owe homage, pay that sh*t/Spray that fif', the crown, I'mma take that sh*t/Cause you a clown and Homey don't play that sh*t."
Still, everything is up for interpretation, and Remy made it clear during the interview that she's done beefing with Nicki, remarking, "I'm so over that."
"I'm past that. I'm like, in a good space," she continued. "I feel like everything happens for a reason. Right now what I'm doing right now is what the record is."
"I don't sit around and focus on females," she added later. "When I make music and when I write, I make music because I wanna just be great overall. I don't sit around here worrying about what one particular sex is doing. It doesn't make sense to me."
Remy had nothing but good things to say about Kim, who sings the hook and the bridge on "Wake Me Up."
"I think Kim is an icon. I think she should definitely be paid way more respect than she is, she’s like the Madonna of the whole female rap," she said. "I can't think of no chick in rap that can't say at some point they weren't influenced by Kim, and I just thought it was dope to have her on the record. She sounds amazing on the record."
