Make no mistake — Fenty Beauty is enjoying some serious shine these days and it's well-deserved. By offering a wide range of foundation shades with varying undertones, Rihanna's cosmetics line is filling a void so often ignored by other beauty brands.
Not everyone is feeling the Fenty Beauty fever though. More and more brands are scrambling to prove that their products are also diverse (as if being inclusive is some type of fad) and one brand in particular managed to get on Rihanna's bad side in the process.
Beauty brand Makeup Forever came for Rihanna on Instagram this week, dropping a caption boasting about their 40 shades and basically being shady AF.
"40 shades is nothing new to us," they wrote. "Since 2015, the #ultraHDfoundation released 40 shades for everyone's unique skin tone understanding the difference between red and yellow undertones. With expertise, time and passion — we shall continue to develop and improve our products for pros, for you, for everyone."
The comment is obviously a reference to Fenty Beauty's 40 foundation shades, and Rihanna was having none of it. She responded to the shade not just once but twice.
"lol. still ashy," Rihanna wrote in one comment, before adding in another, "shook."
