Rising actor Jay Bowdy has committed suicide. The Texas-born actor took his own life while streaming on Facebook Live.
The New York Daily News reports that the 33-year-old committed suicide in Los Angeles by shooting himself in the head in the early morning. Family members apparently contacted the police an hour earlier, worried about his mental state and suicidal statements. A spokesman with the Los Angeles County Coroner shared that the actor may have shot himself just as police were approaching his car. "It's being investigated as a possible suicide."
Per his IMDB page, Bowdy began acting in 2014. He had appeared in over 15 projects like The Island and Big Brother 17. In 2015, he was the lead role in indie movies Prepper and Social Path.
According to Bossip, there is little known about the circumstances around Bowdy's decision. He reportedly mentioned being married and having six children moments before his death.
