SNL Writer Suspended After Questionable Tweet About Barron Trump

Meanwhile, Donald continues to attack SNL on a near-weekly basis.

Making fun of the first family is not hard to do, but maybe let's leave Barron Trump out of it until he's more than just a little kid? This is a lesson Saturday Night Live writer Katie Rich learned the hard way after getting suspended for a tweet about the First Child that many found offensive.

According to Deadline, Rich predicted Barron to be “this country’s first homeschool shooter," in a since-deleted tweet from inauguration day which many found to be insensitive on a number of levels. So much so that the public outcry over the tweet landed Rich an indefinite suspension, with some suspecting she'll lose her job over the joke. Deadline similarly noted that Rich's name was not listed in the credits on the episode that aired the day after the inauguration.

Following the fallout, Rich made her twitter account private, then tweeted this out publicly:

Rich had worked previously on the news-oriented "Weekend Update" section of the show since 2013. Her future with the program is unclear.

Meanwhile, Barron's dad continues to attack SNL on a near-weekly basis. Doesn't he have better things to be doing as, you know, the leader of the free world or whatever?
