Tinder Just Launched A Group Dating Feature

Swipe right for squad dating?

Does meeting a complete stranger on a dating app freak you out? Tinder may have a solution for that. The dating app has launched a group dating option in Australia.

According to Mashable, Tinder Social is a new function that allows you and your friends to create a group on the app. Your group can then match with other groups looking for a communal night out. As a group, share what your plans are and swipe through other groups to see what piques your collective interest. The group expires after 48 hours and all members of the group must be on Tinder. Although Tinder Social is being tested in Australia, the company says that it hopes to roll it out globally.

Squad dating may feel a little reminiscent of high school, but there is strength in numbers. Group dates can reduce first date jitters and increase the feeling of safety around total strangers. "It's a way to go places full of people you’ve already matched with, making socializing so much easier once you’re out and about," the company says. "Whether you’re looking for groups you share common interests with, or you’re looking for a completely new adventure, Tinder Social is a better way to go out with friends."

No word on what happens if you and your friend fall for the same person. #Plottwist!
