Reproductive rights is just one of the many things many Americans are concerned about losing during a Donald Trump presidency, but Dr. Sarah Weddington — the lawyer responsible for winning Roe v. Wade — is here offer just a little bit of hope.
In an interview with TMZ, Dr. Weddington explains why she suspects Trump's daughters, Ivanka and Tiffany Trump, will protect a woman's right to get an abortion.
"Trump has been somebody that's had different positions on this issue at different times," she explained. "And he's got enough female children that are very strong... I can't imagine them letting the law be overturned."
"I tend to worry more about Pence, because he's been absolutely against Roe v. Wade as long as I can remember," she continued, adding that her fears stem from the suspicion that Pence will likely be the "key person" working on legislation in the Trump administration.
"It's been a wake-up call for a lot of women," she continued later. "Particularly younger women who never went through the period when a lot of women had abortions from people who were not equipped, didn't know how to do an abortion."
Do you think Ivanka and Tiffany will do anything to try and preserve women's reproductive rights? Listen to Dr. Weddington's take on things in the interview below.
