Woman Disappeared From Remote Cabin After Making Eerie Call Asking For Help
Authorities say Adrienne Quintal called a "third party" to ask for help in early morning hours on Oct. 12, but when law enforcement authorities arrived at the cabin just 13 minutes later she was gone amid signs of possible foul play.
A Michigan woman is missing from a remote cabin where she had been staying after making a frantic phone call to a third party asking for help just minutes before she disappeared.
The Benzie County Sheriff’s Office and the Michigan State Police are now asking the public for help to find 47-year-old Adrienne Quintal, who goes by “Ada,” after she disappeared under a mysterious set of circumstances in the early morning hours of Oct. 17.
Quintal had been staying at a remote family cabin in Honor, about 255 miles northwest of Detroit, when she called someone around 2:45 a.m. asking for help, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office. That person then called the sheriff’s office.
Deputies and the Michigan State Police arrived at 2:58 a.m. and found “evidence of possible foul play;” however, there was no sign of Quintal.
The 47-year-old’s personal property, including her cellphone, vehicle and purse, had been left behind at the scene.
Investigators tried to use K-9s to track Quintal’s movement that morning but were unable to find her. Her family and friends have also not heard from her since the day she disappeared.
The sheriff’s office has said Quintal, of Warren, went to the cabin to visit her boyfriend, local station WWTV reports. Her boyfriend reportedly left the cabin on Tuesday while Quintal had stayed behind. She disappeared just a few days later.
Quintal is described as 5’7” tall, weighing 125 pounds with long brown hair and brown eyes.
Local volunteers and law enforcement officers continue to search for Quintal in ground searches in the area near the cabin.
