A Florida man stands accused of killing his girlfriend who had filed for a restraining order against him months earlier.

Andrew Moore Luckhurst of Eustis, Florida, 44, was charged with first-degree murder and violation of a protection order on Friday for the alleged killing of 62-year-old Becky Endres in Gulfport, Mississippi, according to local outlet WXXV 25.

Around 9:30 pm on Thursday, police responded to a 911 call placed at the Village Place Apartments on Robinson Road, according to the Sun Herald. There, they found Luckhurst with Endres' body; her face was bruised and bloody, authorities said.

Endres's body showed signs she'd been strangled, authorities said.

Endres, who had just moved to South Mississippi from Florida, had a previous relationship with Luckhurst, but it appears to have been a volatile one. On Aug. 23, Endres filed for a "petition for injunction for protection against repeat violence" against Luckhurst in Lake County, Florida, per documents reviewed by Law & Crime; that case was closed less than two months later.

Leading up to the order of protection, on Aug. 15, Luckhurst was charged with battery as a second offense, witness tampering and criminal mischief after a woman claimed he beat her. It's not clear if Endres was the victim in that case, as the name had been redacted from court records, but soon afterward, she filed for a restraining order against him, according to Law & Crime.

The victim in that case had "red marks around her neck, bruising on her left arm that she was using to hold the right side of her rib cage as she winced in pain every time she took a deep breath," police wrote in charging documents, noting older bruises on her face covering her left cheek and eye.

The previous year, Endres accused Luckhurst of battery, telling 911 dispatchers "he is going to kill me," though she ultimately dropped the charges in that case.

Luckhurst is being held without bail at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, according to NBC affiliate WLOX.
