North Carolina Teen Found Dead A Week After Family's Last Contact With Her
Hannah Nicole Faith told relatives she'd been fighting with her boyfriend before going missing, her family says.
A missing North Carolina teen, whose family said had been fighting with her boyfriend, has been found dead.
Hannah Nicole Faith, 18, was found dead Thursday evening in Hampstead, the Pender County Sheriff’s Department said in a press release.
Authorities referred to her death as an “active, ongoing investigation.” A representative for the department told Oxygen.com that no other information is available at this time.
The cause of death has not been released.
Faith, who is from Wilmington, was last seen in Hampstead on Mar. 18, the department previously stated. Authorities said she was last believed to have been with an 18-year-old boy, whom her family refers to as her boyfriend.
Faith had called her grandmother Carolyn Faith on the day she vanished, with Faith saying she and her boyfriend had been fighting, according to the Port City Daily. Faith's mother Monica Faith told the outlet that her daughter was planning to break up with him.
Carolyn filed a missing person report on Wednesday, exactly one week after that phone conversation. Since then, Hannah’s mother said that someone reached out to her claiming that she spotted a couple who resembled her daughter and her boyfriend in a Richlands Walmart, the Port City Daily reports. That person claimed the female had bruising on her arms. She said her male companion was yelling at her.
“She said she looked scared,” Monica told the outlet.
No criminal charges have been filed and no suspects or persons of interest have been named in connection with Hannah’s death.
