FBI Releases Information About Prolific Serial Killer's Atlanta Victim, Who ‘Begged Him To Give A Message To Her Son’
Serial killer Samuel Little, who claims to have murdered nearly 100 people, has been offering federal investigators information about his victims.
Earlier this year, the man who may be America's deadliest serial killer created portraits of some of his alleged victims, which the FBI has released in hopes that they will lead to more identifications. Now, they are releasing information about one of his victims from Atlanta in hopes of giving the victim her name back.
Samuel Little, 78, told federal authorities last year he'd committed nearly 100 murders across the country from 1970 to 2005. He'd previously been convicted in 2014 of strangling three women in Los Angeles during the 1980s and was serving a life sentence. He made the confession in exchange for a prison transfer, according to NBC News. Since then, authorities have been working to verify those claims and identify the victims. Authorities soon corroborated his involvement in 34 killings, with “many more pending confirmation,” according to the FBI.
This week, the Violent Criminal Apprehension Program or ViCAP, a unit of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation, is seeking information for one of the portraits of a woman Little said he killed in Atlanta in 1983 or 1984.
“Little, who drew a sketch of the victim, described her as a white female, heavy set, about 260 lbs., and 5’8” tall, possibly wearing black tight pants,” the FBI stated in a press release. “Little stated she was approximately 28-years old and was from Griffin, Georgia, and worked as a topless dancer or prostitute in Atlanta. He said the victim had a son.”
The killer said he met the unidentified victim at a strip club. Together they drove to a "'big Island,' not far from the strip club, with roads on both sides of the island that was wooded.”
Little told police that while he was choking the woman, “she begged him to give a message to her son before he killed her.”
What that message was, and if Little even remembers it, has not been disclosed.
Little said he placed the woman in the wooded island leaving her without clothes, according to the FBI.
To date, law enforcement has not yet uncovered a missing persons reports that fit the description of this slain mother.
“Little chose to kill marginalized and vulnerable women who were often involved in prostitution and addicted to drugs,” the FBI said last year. “Their bodies sometimes went unidentified and their deaths uninvestigated.”

Little, also known as Samuel McDowell, has claimed victims in Texas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Illinois, Ohio, California, Indiana, Arizona, New Mexico and South Carolina.
He has been serving three life sentences for strangling three California women from 1987 to 1989. He dumped their bodies in alleyways around the Los Angeles area.
Late last year, he pleaded guilty to the murder for the 1994 strangulation of a Texas woman. Earlier this month, he was officially linked to another cold case.
