Four Dead Dogs Found In Man's Home, Police Investigating Any Connection To Death Of 15 Chihuahuas

At least four dead dogs were pulled out of a Gray Court, South Carolina home this week. Police are looking into whether or not the owner is connected to cases of more dead dogs around the area.

Police said that an animal control officer discovered one dead dog Tuesday at Timothy Edward Glassford’s, according to WYFF in Greenville, South Carolina. Another three dead dogs were found on Wednesday. Nine adult chihuahuas and four puppies were found alive. The puppies are believed to be less than two weeks old and they are getting care at a nearby veterinary hospital, Laurens County Animal Control said in a statement. They are working to retrieve more dogs that are wandering Glassford’s property.

As for the dogs that they rescued, their condition varies.

“One has been taking to the vet where his eye will have to be removed,” animal control stated, adding that most of the dogs are feral and contain fleas.

Glassford, 54, was arrested last week, on June 14, on an unrelated charge of aggravated assault and battery. In that case, a woman was taken to a hospital after allegedly being attacked by Glassford, who was found hiding in a ditch by a creek. Police are seeking warrants for ill treatment of animals in light of this week’s findings, WSPA in Spartanburg reported. 

His home is being called deplorable.

“This is probably one of your worst nightmares," Giles Gilmer, animal control supervisor Laurens County told WYFF. "To walk into a house with feces, spider webs, old dog food in the floorboards is just bad. What furniture was in there was covered with feces and urine. We had to use gas masks to go in and treat the animals.”

Police are investigating to see if Glassford can be linked to 15 dead Chihuahuas, which were discovered in the area in February, WSPA reported.
