A Florida man is accused of strangling his pregnant stepmother to death with a cord, then calling 911 from a cemetery to confess to the murder.

Ian Anselmo, 21, called 911 on March 13 to report that he killed his stepmother, 29-year-old Sue Ellen Anselmo, authorities say.

“I killed my mom — she’s dead,” Anselmo told a 911 dispatcher during a call made from Eustis Cemetery in Lake County, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by Oxygen.com. “I strangled her.”

He mentioned something about being in an argument. When asked about the victim's condition, he said she was bleeding from the nose.

Officers arrived at the cemetery to find Anselmo in the passenger seat of a car. He got out of the car and “made the spontaneous utterance that his dad was going to be very upset,” police wrote.

Inside the driver’s seat, responding officers found Sue Ellen.

“There was a cord wrapped around Sue Ellen's neck," the Eustis Police Department wrote. She was unresponsive. She died as a result of her injuries last week.

It's not clear where the alleged attack took place.

Sue Ellen was six weeks pregnant, a fact the entire family, including Ian, was aware of, according to police.

A day before the attack, Sue Ellen hired a divorce attorney, according to Click Orlando.

She was reportedly known for singing at church and community events.

Ian Anselmo was charged with second-degree attempted murder and on aggravated battery on a pregnant female. He was booked into Lake County Jail on $75,000 bond, according to court records.

It’s not clear if he has a lawyer who can speak on his behalf at this time. A possible motive has not been released.
