Actor Columbus Short is in legal hot water again after failing to appear at a scheduled court appearance.

The 36-year-old “Scandal” alum is currently in the process of finalizing his divorce from ex-wife Tuere Tanee Short; after Short failed to make a scheduled court appearance, a judge issued a bench warrant for his arrest, PEOPLE magazine reports.

Short was scheduled to appear on Tuesday, according to TMZ, but his absence marked the second time in two months that he’s ditched court.

The scheduled hearing was to include a judgment debtor examination, TMZ reports, wherein Short would be required to disclose details about his finances while speaking under oath.

Tuere Tanee filed for divorce—and a restraining order—in 2014, citing an alleged incident wherein the actor held a knife to her throat while intoxicated and threatened to kill her and himself, E! News reports.

The couple, who have a daughter named Ayala together, was married for nearly 10 years prior to ending their relationship. Tuere Tanee requested physical and legal custody of the child in 2014.

Short has been in trouble with the law time and time again in recent years.

After getting arrested last year for allegedly hitting his wife, Short pleaded no contest and was sentenced to 36 months of probation and a year in jail for violating the probation he was already on for knocking a man unconscious during a fight in a restaurant years earlier, TMZ reports.

Short was released in March of this year, after serving just 34 days of his sentence.
