Crazy Video Shows Daring Rodeo Sheep Escaping Police After High-Speed Hoof Chase

A woolly fugitive made a fool of police after escaping from a Massachusetts rodeo.

Talk about a ewe turn.

An errant sheep made a daring escape from Massachusetts cops after escaping from a rodeo, according to police.

The sheep, who belongs to the New England Rodeo, trotted off the job in Norton Friday afternoon and was soon terrorizing area residents, including one neighbor who took a hair raising photo of the escapee lurking in a backyard, police in nearby Mansfield said.

Video of the heart-thumping getaway shows the sheep, whose name was not immediately available, cantering down a suburban street in front of a police cruiser, turning onto another street, and galloping across a road as an officer leapt from his cruiser and ran after the ovine offender in hot pursuit.

The Mansfield Police Department, which released the video — complete with an ominous score and tongue-in-cheek editing — said the sheep remained at large as of Sunday afternoon.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the woolly fugitive — who police said is likely tired and scared — is encouraged to contact the New England Rodeo at 508-858-1102, police said.
