Jamie Foxx Says Allegations He Sexually Assaulted Woman During 2002 House Party Are Untrue
Jamie Foxx was accused of hitting an anonymous woman in the face with his penis in 2002.
Jamie Foxx "emphatically denies" a woman's claim that he slapped her the face with his penis at a party, his lawyer says.
The actor's unnamed accuser went public with her story last week, alleging that the 50-year-old sexually assaulted her after she refused to perform oral sex on him during a party at his Las Vegas home in 2002, TMZ reported.
One of Foxx’s friends then told her she had to leave the party, the woman told TMZ, and after she returned home to Los Angeles the following day, she went to the hospital to seek treatment for a severe panic attack.
Foxx’s accuser reported the alleged sexual assault to the Las Vegas Police Department on June 8, People reports. A report was taken and the incident will be investigated, a spokesman for the Las Vegas police told People.
The #MeToo movement inspired Foxx’s accuser to share her story, TMZ reported. She claimed she also wanted the incident to be on the record in the event of other victims coming forward.
The “Django Unchained” actor has denied the allegations against him.
“Jamie emphatically denies that this incident ever occurred, and he will be filing a report with the Las Vegas Police Department against the woman for filing a false police report against him,” Foxx’s attorney, Allison Hart of Lavely & Singer, told TMZ. “The first time [Jamie] became aware of this woman’s absurd claims about an incident that supposedly occurred 16 years ago was when TMZ contacted his representatives [Tuesday] about this story.”
“The alleged incident was not reported to law enforcement in 2002, or at any other time in the last 16 years until last Friday because the incident never happened,” she added.
Foxx is the latest big name in Hollywood whose conduct has come into question in the midst of the #MeToo movement. Eight women accused actor Morgan Freeman of sexual misconduct in a report published by CNN last month. The 80-year-old actor denied the allegations and demanded an apology and retraction from the network.
