Philadelphia Eagles' Josh Sills Charged With 2019 Kidnapping, Rape In Ohio
A woman claimed the NFL offensive lineman attacked her inside his vehicle before she went to authorities, who say they "conducted a detailed investigation."
Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Josh Sills has been indicted on charges of kidnapping and rape.
The 25-year-old NFL player was indicted by a Guernsey County grand jury in Ohio for two first-degree felonies which allegedly occurred in 2019, according to a joint statement by Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and Guernsey County Sheriff Jeffrey D. Paden on Wednesday.

“In December 2019… Sills engaged in sexual activity that was not consensual and held a victim against her will,” according to the release. “The crime was immediately reported, and the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office conducted a detailed investigation.”
A 21-year-old woman — referred to only as “M.M.” in court records reviewed by Oxygen.com — told investigators that, at around 2:00 a.m. on Dec. 5, 2019, Sills drove the her and her cousin to their Guernsey County residence, according to an incident report obtained by WTRF. People reported the trio had just returned from a cafe in Mt. Ephraim — about 100 miles west of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
She told investigators that she and Sills, who hails from Sarahsville, Ohio, had known one another for seven or eight years, having attended the same high school, CBS Wheeling, West Virginia affiliate WTRF reports.
The cousin reportedly exited the vehicle first and went inside the house before Sills allegedly grabbed the victim by the arm and “pulled her back into the truck,” according to the report.
Over the woman's repeated objections, Sills allegedly grabbed the her by her ponytail and tried to kiss her.

The complaint said a friend soon arrived in their own vehicle and parked behind Sills, People reported, at which point Sills allegedly “grabbed [the victim] by the neck, threw her down on the seat, and got up on top of her so no one could see them inside the truck.” The friend then went into the house.
Sills then allegedly trying to pull off her pants, eventually forcing his hands into her crotch and continued “touching her down there,” WTRF reported. She managed to wriggle free, but he then allegedly grabbed her by the neck and pulled her on top of him.
That's when, she told police, Sills told her “she was doing this and was not leaving until she did this,” according to WTRF.
The woman said Sills then removed his pants and forced her head into his crotch, allegedly forcing her to perform oral sex for about 20 minutes, according to the incident report. Sills allegedly wouldn’t let the victim leave until she complied with his demands.
At one point, the victim said Sills grabbed her leg so hard that “she couldn’t breathe,” according to People.
After he allegedly finished, the victim asked him to let her go. Sills then allegedly tried to kiss her and grabbed her by the neck once again, demanding, “you will talk to me again,” according to WTRF.
The victim sought treatment at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, where deputies documented several injuries, including bruising on the back of her leg and her right ear, as well as and injuries to back of her throat and inside her lip that required treatment, according to the West Virginia outlet and People.
So far, Sills has yet to enter a plea for the charges.
On Wednesday, the NFL announced they were placing Sills on the Commissioner Exempt List, meaning Sills won’t be able to play or travel with the rest of the team, although he was already “inactive” for the Eagles’ two postseason games.
The league will also review the allegations in accordance with its personal conduct policy.
“The organization is aware of the legal matter involving Josh Sills,” the NFL stated. “We have been in communication with the league office and are in the process of gathering more information.”
Sills signed with the Eagles in April and previously attended and played at West Virginia and Oklahoma State, according to ESPN.
Prosecutors announced Sills is expected to appear at the Guernsey County Common Pleas Court on Feb. 16, four days after the Eagles are slated to play against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl LVII in Arizona.
