Suicide Notes Of Mom Who Killed Young Kids And Herself Revealed: 'I Hope You Rot'

“I hope you live with pain and shame and guilt for the rest of your life.”

NBC affiliate WYFF in Greenville, South Carolina reports the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office has released the suicide notes of Jessica Edens.

On July 13, Edens shot to death 28-year-old Meredith Leigh Rahme, whom she believed had an affair with her husband, before killing her children, Harper Edens, 5, and Hayden King, 9, and then taking her own life.

“To Ben, you have caused me more pain than I’ve ever been in my life. You have caused my children pain. I hate you,” she wrote in a letter to her estranged husband. “I hope you rot one day for what you have done to me and my kids.”

According to Yahoo! News, Jessica Edens left behind three separate notes, one to Ben Edens, another to Hayden’s father, and a third to her parents and his sister.

“I know what I have done is selfish, but I cannot live with this pain any longer,” she says in the letter to her family. “I just cannot handle it. It is too much. It hurts too much. I will no longer be in pain and my children will no longer hurt either. I am so sorry. I love you all.”

To her first husband, the father of Hayden King, she wrote, ““To Nate, I don’t know what to say. You gave me my first child. I will forever be greatful (sic) because of you. I never meant to cause you as much pain as this. I am sorry.”

Though still married, Ben Edens had recently filed for divorce from Jessica, whom he met in 2008 and married two years later. The couple were also reportedly in a custody battle over their daughter Harper.

Meredith Rahme worked with Ben Edens and lived in the same apartment complex as him. Police believe Jessica suspected her husband of having an affair with Rahme, and had sent both of them a series of threatening text messages prior to the shootings. “I hope you live with pain and shame and guilt for the rest of your life,” she wrote in her final message to her husband.
