Preachers Jay Haizlip and Ron Gibson Looked to God to Overcome Drug Abuse

Preachers of L.A. stars Jay Haizlip and Ron Gibson were not always respected community leaders. In fact, the two men used to be in the same position as some of the drug addicts and troubled teens that they now counsel today. In his youth, Pastor Jay Haizlip dove deep into the world of hard drugs, partying hard and abusing cocaine. Similarly, Bishop Gibson grew up in the rough neighborhood of Compton and turned to drugs and gang violence as a means of survival. Now, these two men have made the incredible transformation from addicts to role models, helping others recover along the way. Watch this short clip of Jay Haizlip and scroll to watch Bishop Gibson speak of their personal revelations.

'Preachers of L.A.' premieres Wednesday, October 9 at 10/9c.
