Christina on episode 1: Models, Bottles, and Intern Squabbles

The Angels for Africa event was an event that we put together in a very short amount of time. Due to the time frame, everyone was asked to go above and beyond their normal duty. Our collective effort really paid off. Through the generosity of guests and donors, we were able to raise over $400,000 for the Shine on Sierra Leone charity. Shine on Sierra Leone provides birthright health care in a country that ranks lowest in the world in health care provision. Sierra Leone has one of the highest infant mortality rates in the world where 1 out of 6 infants dies before the age of 1. It is especially gratifying to be able to aid such a great cause. Russell's idea of pairing beautiful models and wealthy patrons turned out to be a successful formula.

When I found out the interns were shopping instead of running errands, obviously I was disappointed in their decision-making. I sent them out on an errand for me and they decided to start shopping for themselves. I was very clear that this task needed to be completed in a short amount of time. Because of their decision to shop, they ended up being extremely late. This caused more problems later and showed that they weren't taking their jobs seriously.

Aly and Sagen were both a little too starstruck at the Argyleculture shoot. Obviously Sagen more so than Aly. As they become more exposed to public figures and celebrities, hopefully this won't happen again but stay tuned to find out!

As an artist I was extremely upset about the Gary Simmons piece being ruined. It was an unfortunate accident that the piece was damaged. In the end you can't undo what's been done. Russell's reaction reminded me that it was a material possession no matter what it’s worth. End result, he wanted me to focus on the more important task at hand, which was the Angels for Africa charity event.

It’s probably best to catch Russell after he comes out of a meditative state, but the fact is, Russell does transcendental meditation everyday. As a result of his daily meditation, his state of mind is pretty consistent throughout the day.

This season, you can look forward to a behind-the-scenes peek at the day-to-day workings and what it takes to be part of the Russell Simmons Empire. Hopefully people will enjoy my role as a Jane of all trades. You will see what it takes to juggle Russell's personal and business life, along with reeling in the daily chaos that tends to surround us.
