Here we go again: Azealia Banks is once again at odds with a major label deal. Following her surreal (and perhaps literally not real) public fight with Russell Crowe, Banks is stepping away from her imminent deal with RZA's label after the hip-hop legend refused to defend the young rapper.
According to TMZ, negotiations between RZA's crew and Banks have been ongoing for the past three weeks, but things fell through after Azealia's most recent highly-publicized incident, with Banks saying she no longer wants to pursue the deal. TMZ intimates that she feels betrayed by RZA's lack of support following the fight at the party he invited her to in the first place.
RZA's team, meanwhile, doesn't seem to mind losing the truculent talent. TMZ states that RZA's label firmly believes Azealia is "full of it" and acknowledges that she is "in the wrong."
While Banks' most recent EP, Slay-Z, was rather critically well received, her musical output has remaned essentially non-existent since. With record deals continuing to fall through, it's hard to imagine she'll be releasing any new tracks any time soon.
