Jesse Williams is addressing the issue of police treatment head-on. In a clip for the series America Divided, the activist actor travels to Pinellas County, Florida, to investigate inequality in the criminal system.
"Pinellas is third in the state in disproportionately arresting black children," the 35-year-old Grey's Anatomy actor says in the video on ET. "Three times as many students are arrested for disorderly conduct in Pinellas, than in Miami. And Miami has three times the amount of students. That's pretty alarming."
Williams sat down with officer Mike Hawkins to talk about how black students are treated, as well as the overall underrepresentation of African-Americans within the police ranks.
America Divided premieres on EPIX tonight at 9/8c.
