Kanye West's Doctor Said He Suffered From "Temporary Psychosis"
New details emerge in Kanye's hospitalization.
New details have emerged in the hospitalization of Kanye West. According to TMZ, it was the rapper's personal physician who called the cops to check up on him, citing mental illness and the probability of being violent.
Dr. Michael Farzam gave authorities a pseudonym when he called them, stating that his patient's name was "Jim Jones, 39 years old, 5'8", 175 lbs" and that he "suffers from temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration." The doctor said, in the police report, that Kanye attempted to assault a staff member at the gym they were in.
Farzam reportedly placed the superstar on a 5150 psychiatric hold and wanted him taken to UCLA Medical Center. A 5150 is an involuntary psych hold in California that authorizes a qualified officer or clinician to confine someone suspected to be a danger to themselves, a danger to others or seriously disabled.
Earlier, Kris Jenner came out and said that Kanye's erratic behavior was the result of exhaustion over his tour.
