Barbie continues to change with the times. The iconic doll got a body positive makeover from model Ashley Graham, who has launched a Barbie created to her measurements.
“We need to work together to redefine the global image of beauty and continue to push for a more inclusive world,” the 27-year-old said in a statement, per People. “I’m thrilled Barbie has not only evolved their product, but also has continued to honor women who are pushing boundaries. It’s an honor to be immortalized in plastic.”
The new Barbie is outfitted in an actual outfit that the model has worn, including a sparkly Opening Ceremony bodycon dress and Sonia Rykiel cropped jean jacket.
The curvy Barbie looks more like a real woman than the unrealistic original. “It was important that the Barbie resembled me as much as possible. The thighs touching was one way to show young girls that it’s okay for your thighs to touch, despite society saying that a ‘thigh gap’ is more beautiful,” Graham shared.
