Rihanna Went Off On Fans Who Play Pokemon GO During Her Concerts
Pokémon Go and pop stars don't mix.
If you’ve been to a concert recently, you probably know that cell phones are a scourge. You’ve paid potentially hundreds of dollars for seats, yet some doofus has a big glowing smartphone screen in between you and your musical hero. If you wanted to watch Beyoncé on a tiny screen you could have stayed home and not bothered with high heels.
Now, it’s gotten even worse with the scary popularity of Pokémon Go. If augmented reality that includes Pokémon at concerts is the future, I don’t know who much further I want to go on.
It turns out, Rihanna agrees with me. In a little rant to the audience that was (ironically) captured on a camera phone, Rihanna told her audience in France this weekend, “I don't want to see you texting your boyfriends or your girlfriends. I don't want to see you catching any Pokémons up in this bitch.”
She’s right to be annoyed and right to be worried. Look at this lady catching those little monsters right in front of Queen Bey:
The world is on fire.
