Slovakian Model Mayka Kukucova Gets 15 Years In Prison For Killing Her Ex-Boyfriend
"The gun just went off. I only wanted to break free from his grasp."
26-year-old Mayka Kukucova has been found guilty of shooting her millionaire ex-boyfriend in Spain, according to NBC News. The model has been sentenced for up 15.5 years in jail for her crimes from 2014.
Details about the murder are sparse: The victim, Andrew Bush, returned to his Spanish home with a new girlfriend, only to find Kukucova waiting for him. Bush then told the new girlfriend to leave the premises. After a violent struggle, Kukucova shot her 48-year-old ex in both the head and shoulder. Kukucova fled to Slovakia in Bush's Hummer before turning herself in four days later.
The couple had only broken up a month prior to the incident. They had been together for two years.
Kukucova claimed she had no intention of harming her former lover. "The gun just went off. I only wanted to break free from his grasp," she said. The model was visibly upset during the trial, crying profusely when pictures of the victim were shown.
Kukucova will also have to pay 200,000 euros ($223,000) to the victim's daughter and sister, plus court costs.
Bush's new girlfriend Maria Kortoeva (the brunette below) has taken to social media about her boyfriend's killer (the blond).
