It’s not uncommon for parents to name their kids after where they’re conceived or born, so it was only a matter of time before the world welcomed baby Uber. Little Uber was born in New Delhi, India after his mom, Babli, gave birth in the car service.
The mom hired the Uber cab after repeated emergency calls for an ambulance went unanswered. Shahnawaz, her driver, took the pregnant woman and her friends to the hospital, but they hit traffic. Mother Nature wasn’t waiting and the trio had to help her give birth right there in the cab. "The woman was writhing in pain and her friends did not know what to do," said Shahnawaz. "I pulled out the towels from the seats and poured some drinking water into a bowl. The child was born within minutes and I was really happy to see that he was responding," he said.
The driver then rushed mom and baby to the hospital. "The doctors asked if I was her husband. I narrated the entire incident after which they congratulated me. This was one of the happiest moment of my life," he said. The woman's family is so grateful that they wanted the driver to name the child so of course, he picked the company that made it all possible—Uber.
