Judge scheduled closing arguments in the case for Monday.

The man accused of shooting an unarmed jogger three times testified that he was scared when, armed with a shotgun, he pursued Ahmad Arbery in his truck with his father and the help of a neighbor.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson called attorney Kevin Gough's request, which was denied by the judge, a "diversion" during an emotional day of testimony.

The Rev. Al Sharpton later described the remarks made by defense attorney Kevin Gough as "arrogant insensitivity" and "insulting to the family of the victim."

Greg McMichael, his son Travis McMichael and neighbor William "Roddie" Bryan Jr., are on trial for the murder of Ahmaud Arbery, who was chased down and fatally shot in Brunswick, Georgia in February 2020.

“This ain’t no shuffler,” Greg McMichael said shortly after the fatal shooting of Ahmaud Arbery, according to a transcript read in court. “This guy’s an a—hole. He was hooked up when he came around that street.”
