A man has been accused of stalking and harassing Malia Obama. The daughter of former President Barack Obama has been living in New York City while interning in the film industry. CBS New York shares that Secret Service agents reported multiple harassing incidents to police in Tribeca on Tuesday.

The Secret Service claims that a Brooklyn man named Jair Nilton Cardosa went to the 18-year-old's internship and allegedly harassed her on April 10, including asking her to marry him. He was asked to leave by Secret Service but followed her again two days later. The Secret Service claims the same man has a history of bothering Malia; he tried to enter the White House several times when the Obamas were living there.

Last week, Secret Service went to Cardosa's apartment and deemed him emotionally unwell. The 30-year-old was then taken to the hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

The publication says that the NYPD is now aware of the long history of Cardosa's stalking of Malia. Although charges have not been filed yet, they are apparently being considered.
