A Woman Threatened A Sandy Hook Victim's Parents Because Of Fake News

A Florida woman thought the Sandy Hook shooting was a hoax. The world has gone mad.

A Florida woman has been arrested for making death threats against a parent of a child killed in the Sandy Hook school shootings. Lucy Richards of Tampa has been charged with four felony counts of transmitting threats. According to the LA Times, her messages included things like, "You gonna die, death is coming to you real soon," and "LOOK BEHIND YOU IT IS DEATH."

Richards made the threats against a person being identified as "L.P." She did so because she thought the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting was a hoax. Authorities have not released details on how the threats were sent or why Richards thought the notorious shooting at Newtown, Connecticut was fraudulent.

There have been several conspiracy theories surrounding the shooting, in which a gunman killed 20 first graders and six teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary School. These so-called Sandy Hook truthers, who largely believe that the shooting was somehow orchestrated by liberals demanding gun control, join the growing number of people falling for fake news.
