The hunt for Tad Cummins and Elizabeth Thomas is over. The 50-year-old and his former teenage student from Tennesee have been missing for over a month and were recovered in Northern California. Cummins was arrested and Thomas was found safely.

The Tennesee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) shared the news on social media:

Those are the only official details shared for now, but the TBI says that a press conference will be held this afternoon.

The story of Cummins and Thomas has gained national attention for the last several weeks. 15-year-old Thomas disappeared on March 13. Shortly after, details began to circulate of a romantic relationship between the two. Cummins had been suspended from his job due to allegations of physical contact with Thomas and another girl came forward with allegations that showed a similar pattern of behavior. Following her disappearance, Thomas added "wife" to her Instagram bio, which hinted that she and Cummins may have absconded to get married.
