Crystal Meth Lab Found Underneath Walmart Parking Lot

This is straight out of an episode of Breaking Bad.

Walmart is one of the world’s largest retailers and employers. You can find anything you want at a Walmart store: clothes, appliances, guns, groceries, and now, apparently crystal methamphetamine. Well, to be fair, not in the actual store, but underneath it. In a story straight out of the television series Breaking Bad, police have found a crystal meth lab in a series of tunnels that run underneath the parking lot of a Walmart in Amherst, New York, just outside the city of of Buffalo.

A variety of law enforcement agencies converged on the scene Monday afternoon after an officer discovered the site during a routine check of secluded areas “where people could be up to no good," according to Amherst Police Captain Scott Chamberlain. A hazmat team was called in and found a can of spray paint, empty soda bottles, as well as actual samples of what they believe to be crystal methamphetamine. Police believe the manufacturing of crystal meth is extremely dangerous and uses toxic chemicals which can produce poisonous and combustible gases. So far authorities have not detected any contamination to the nearby area or water supply.
