The family of a Utah woman murdered by her husband aboard a cruise ship last Tuesday posted the last photograph taken of her over the weekend.
The Utah couple was supposed to be celebrating their 18th wedding anniversary. Their three teen daughters joined them on their trip aboard the Emerald Princess. Thirty-nine-year-old Kenneth Manzanares allegedly said he killed his wife, Kristy Manzanares, 39, for “laughing at him.” He was seen carrying her body to the railing of the ship around the same time a ‘Murder Mystery’ theater was being conducted on the ship. Kenneth is currently in jail.
In the last photo taken of Kristy, she looked happy while wearing comfy clothing and posing with her luggage.
"We are devastated over the loss of Kristy. She is the light of our lives — a devoted mother, daughter, sister and friend. Kristy led by example with her giving heart and we are inspired by the legacy of kindness and optimism she has instilled in her children," a statement from family members read.
According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Kristy worked as a realtor and had three daughters who ranged in age from 13 to 22.
A GoFundMe has been started to raise money for the family.
