A woman in Florida is accused of sex crimes after having a baby that was fathered by an 11-year-old. 25-year-old Marissa Ashley Mowry was hit with over 15 charges including sexual battery and sexual assault. In 2014, at age 22, she began a sexual relationship with an 11-year-old child, according to WFLA. Mowry gave birth to a baby boy later that year.
Police said Mowry and the victim continued to have sexual contact until this year when the victim was 14. In Mowry’s original statement to police, she claimed that at one point the boy forcibly had sex with her while she was “highly medicated” on Benadryl and Amoxicillin. But, she later denied that happened during a phone conversation with the boy that was recorded by police, according to WFLA. She has admitted to having sex with the child.
Neighbors said that Mowry’s boyfriend recently got back from a military deployment. He was reportedly disturbed to hear about the news. The baby, who is now almost 3, will be placed with a responsible adult, according to NBC Miami. Mowry is now pregnant again though police said the father is not the young boy. Mowry’s sexual battery charge is a capital offense and comes with a mandatory life sentence if she is convicted.
