Three Florida boys, all under the age of 10, died in a house fire this weekend that authorities believe was set by the ex of the children’s grandfather.
Marcus Clark, 10, Kiani Clark, 8, and Kemaren Clark, 4, were all sleeping in their grandfather’s Arcadia home when the fire started at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday. According to CBS8, balloons and stuffed bears now decorate the burned out home to memorialize the three boys.
The trio weren’t the only ones caught in the blaze, but they were the only ones killed. A woman was in the home but according to authorities, escaped unharmed. According to WINKNews, the grandfather was pulled from the home by an unknown good Samaritan. The grandfather is now recovering at a nearby hospital. His ex-girlfriend, Marian Evette Williams, 49, is in custody facing first degree murder, attempted murder and arson. According to CBS8, investigators said she set the fire intentionally.
Williams has been in and out of prison since 1991, according to WINKNews. Her list of charges include drug dealing, driving with a suspended license and felony DUI. According to CBS8, Williams was arrested just a day before, charged with battery and burglary of an occupied dwelling. RollingOut alleges that dwelling was the home she later burned down and that she had threatened to burn it down at the time. She made good on her promise. As of now, there is no clear motive for her alleged actions.
