A man in Pennsylvania is accused of molesting two young girls—ages 8 and 10— and raping the older one. According to Crime Online, 45-year-old Juan Alberto Martinez was originally charged with felony and misdemeanor indecent assault, corruption of minors, and terroristic threats. At the time, he claimed that he didn't have intercourse with his victims. The Times-Tribune reports that the man was arrested Wednesday on new charges including rape of a child.
The 8-year-old had previously told investigators Martinez exposed himself to her twice and told her to touch his genitals. The 10-year-old told authorities on Monday, after telling an adult about what Martinez did to her, that he forced her to have intercourse. He allegedly threatened her not to tell anyone by saying, "I will kill you if you tell anybody." He also told her to blame getting hit by a baseball if anyone asked what happened to her.
In light of the new charges, the judge increased bail for Martinez from $150,000 to $500,000. He is in Lackawanna County Prison and his preliminary hearing is slated for next Wednesday.
