A North Carolina man has been arrested for kidnapping after a woman was discovered chained up in a shed. According to ABC 11 Raleigh – Durham, detectives were responding to a disturbance call and heard a commotion behind the man’s house. When they looked inside the small shed, they saw with the woman, who was being restrained with ropes and chains. She told police she was being held there against her will by her boyfriend, 52-year-old Gary Alen McNair.
Ironically it was McNair’s own mother, who lives next door, that called in the noise complaint. In an interview with CBS affiliate WNCN, she heard strange noises while on her back porch feeding her cats. “I said, ‘Oh my God! What in the world?’ I hurried up and shut my door,” McNair said, before retrieving a firearm. “My gun was loaded, because I didn’t know what was going on,” she said.
McNair was detained at the scene and has been charged with second-degree kidnapping. He is expected in court Wednesday.
